Job summary

Flytrex is seeking a Real Estate and Development Manager for Houston. You will identify and launch drone takeoff/landing locations, manage leases and utility agreements, and coordinate with brokers, landlords, and city officials to streamline permitting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial brokerage or urban planning, strong knowledge of zoning and real estate contracts, and an entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset. This role requires extensive travel and a valid US driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial brokerage, permitting, or urban planning and zoning.
• Strong understanding of land use planning, zoning, and municipal permitting processes.
• Familiarity with real estate legal documents (LOIs, purchase agreements, JV agreements).
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Proactive, reliable, and flexible attitude.
• Comfortable with hands-on tasks and learning new tech tools.
• Proficiency in design software such as Smartsheet, Bluebeam, Revit/AutoCAD; able to review drawings/plans.
• Valid driver’s license; extensive travel; US work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Identify and launch drone site locations near clients.
• Manage day-to-day real estate operations including maintenance and utility agreements.
• Negotiate leases and maintain relationships with brokers and landlords.
• Coordinate with operators, brokers, landlords, leadership, and local governments.
• Handle zoning, lease, and utility agreements for each site.
• Engage with city planners and streamline permitting processes.
• Advocate for Flytrex and develop customer/partner relationships.
