Job summary

Lpl-Solar in Florida is seeking a Drone Pilot / Surveyor to perform aerial data collection, mapping, and construction documentation across utility-scale solar EPC projects. You will operate UAS, survey equipment, and mapping software to produce accurate field data used by engineering, estimating, and site management teams.

The role requires strong flight capabilities, practical surveying knowledge, and the ability to travel extensively to active sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; related technical degree preferred.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required.
• Experience operating drones/UAS for surveying, mapping, engineering, or construction.
• Knowledge of GPS/GNSS, RTK, and survey equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, grading plans, site layouts, construction drawings, and specs.
• Ability to travel extensively to active project sites.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct UAS flight operations on large solar sites per FAA regulations.
• Collect high-resolution imagery and survey data for mapping and construction documentation.
• Create Ortho mosaics, DTMs/DSMs, and point clouds.
• Support site surveying using GPS/GNSS, RTK, and robotic total stations.
• Establish and verify survey control for construction.
