Job summary

LPL Solar LLC is seeking a Drone Pilot / Surveyor to perform aerial data collection, mapping, surveying support, and construction documentation across utility-scale solar EPC projects. You will operate UAS, survey gear, and mapping software to produce accurate field data for engineering, estimating, and site management.

This role works in a fast-paced EPC environment across the construction lifecycle, from preconstruction surveys to earthwork and electrical installations.

Qualifications

• Must have FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
• Experience operating drones for surveying or construction.
• Knowledge of surveying principles and control.
• Ability to read civil plans and site layouts.
• Experience with GPS/GNSS and RTK.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct UAS/drone flights across large solar sites per FAA and project rules.
• Collect high-resolution imagery and survey data for mapping and documentation.
• Produce orthomosaics, DTMs/DSMs, and point clouds from photogrammetry.
• Support site surveying with GPS/GNSS, RTK, and robotic total stations.
• Establish and maintain survey control during construction.
• Support grading, pile locations, electrical infrastructure, and road layout.
• Document site conditions before mobilization and during construction.
• Perform routine progress flights to track construction.
• Assist with earthwork calculations and verify completed work.
• Coordinate data requirements with Project Teams and maintain records.
