Job description

Drives Business Development Manager OEM within Light Industry

The Sales Development Manager (SDM) is a proactive hunter role focused on new business development for Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and industrial automation solutions within Light Industry markets, including industrial machinery, food & beverage, tooling, material handling, automotive, and industrial water & irrigation. The SDM will understand complex customer matrices, develop tailored go-to-market strategies, and collaborate closely with colleagues to find optimal solutions. The role involves managing the entire sales cycle from opportunity identification to closing, with a focus on large OEMs, engineering firms, and system integrators.

Essential Functions
  • Focus on growth by targeting large, strategic customers such as OEMs, EPCs, and system integrators.
  • Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships to onboard new customers of scale.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, service, product management, supply chain, and application development teams.
  • Demonstrate vertical industry expertise to build trust and confidence.
  • Establish long-term partnerships through sustainable relationships.
  • Apply knowledge of OPEX and CAPEX strategies.
  • Lead 'WIN ROOM' activities to leverage internal stakeholders for key accounts.
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records for new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Channel Sales Team to provide optimal solutions.
Job Travel and Location

Up to 70% domestic travel within North America, limited international travel. This role is remote, ideally based in the Midwest, Gulf, or Eastern US regions.

Background & Skills

Educational Requirements: BA/BS or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience: Minimum 5 years in industry sales, preferably with experience selling to end-users, OEMs, and integrators in automation and electrical equipment, with a background in VFDs. CRM experience, especially Salesforce, is preferred. Existing customer networks and knowledge of VFD, automation, and motion control markets are advantageous.
