Job description

Drives Business Development Manager OEM within Light Industry

The Sales Development Manager is a VFD (Variable Frequency Drives) new business hunter responsible for understanding VFD, industrial controls, and automation systems within the Light Industry markets, including industrial machinery, food & beverage, tooling, material handling, automotive, industrial water, and irrigation. The role involves creating tailored go-to-market strategies, collaborating with colleagues to find solutions, and managing the entire sales cycle from opportunity identification to closing.

Essential Functions
  • Focus on growth by targeting large industrial OEMs, engineering firms (EPCs), and system integrators.
  • Build and develop relationships within the Light Industry sectors.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to onboard new large-scale customers.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, service, product management, supply chain, and application development teams.
  • Demonstrate industry-specific expertise to build trust.
  • Develop long-term partnerships with customers.
  • Understand and utilize OPEX and CAPEX strategies.
  • Lead "WIN ROOM" activities to secure key accounts.
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records.
  • Collaborate with channel sales teams to deliver solutions.
Job Travel and Location

Up to 70% domestic travel within North America, limited international travel. Remote work is expected, with candidates ideally located in the Midwest, Gulf, or Eastern US regions.

Background & Skills

Educational Requirements: BA/BS or equivalent experience.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience selling to end users, OEMs, and integrators in automation and electrical equipment, preferably with VFD background.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools; Salesforce preferred.
  • Existing network within the industry is a plus.
  • Understanding of VFD, industrial automation, and motion control markets is preferred.
