The City of Conroe seeks a Transit Operator to perform vehicle operations across fixed-route, paratransit, on-demand and extended services. You will provide passenger assistance, ensure safety and comply with all laws while delivering reliable service to the public.
Requires two years’ experience driving for public transit, a HS diploma or GED, and the ability to work evenings, weekends or holidays. Starting wage is $19.21 per hour.
Perform vehicle operations in fixed-route, paratransit, on-demand and extended services. Duties include, but are not limited to, safe operation of motor vehicles, providing passenger assistance, customer service, radio operations, record keeping and adherence to all applicable laws. Consistently display sound judgment which results in decisions that place the agency in the best possible light.
Requires two years' experience in operating vehicles for public transit. High school diploma, GED or equivalent. Must be 18 years or older.
The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, crouching, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, talking and walking.
