City of Conroe is seeking a Transit Operator to drive fixed-route, paratransit, on-demand and extended services. Responsibilities include safe vehicle operation, passenger assistance, and radio communications, with diligent record-keeping and adherence to laws.
Required qualifications: two years of transit driving experience, a high school diploma or GED, and 18+ years old. A valid Texas Class C CDL with Passenger Endorsement is required.
Perform vehicle operations in fixed-route, paratransit, on-demand and extended services. Duties include, but are not limited to, safe operation of motor vehicles, providing passenger assistance, customer service, radio operations, record keeping and adherence to all applicable laws. Consistently display sound judgment which results in decisions that place the agency in the best possible light.
Requires two years' experience in operating vehicles for public transit. High school diploma, GED or equivalent. Must be 18 years or older.
The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, crouching, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, talking and walking.
