The City of Conroe Transportation Department is seeking a Transit Aide - Operations responsible for supporting fixed route and ADA Paratransit daily operations, contractor monitoring, and fleet rotation, with a focus on safe, efficient service within the department's policies and budget.
The role requires strong PC skills, clear communication, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including federal and state partners, to ensure compliance and smooth operation.
The Transit Aide - Operations position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and technical duties for the City of Conroe Transportation Department. The job assignment includes, not limited to: Fixed Route and ADA Paratransit daily operations, contractor monitoring, fleet maintenance/rotation, route supervision and conflict resolution/safety expertise. Work includes administrative and technical responsibility for all route designs, projects and studies. Work is performed with considerable independence within the framework of established procedures, City and departmental policies, and managing the operation within the budgetary plan.
Preferred the completion of an associate's degree in business or public administration, or equivalent combination of industry training and transit operation experience. Two years of experience with a municipal, state, and/or federal agency in transit planning and/or management, and/or processing documents (paper or electronic) to meet FTA requirements.
Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement required.
The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, crouching, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, talking and walking.
