Job summary

TraLo, a family-owned transportation company based in Owatonna, MN, is seeking an In-House Driver Recruiter to source, hire, and retain CDL drivers to meet operational needs. You will drive recruitment efforts, screen candidates, ensure DOT compliance, and build strong driver relationships for retention.

Based in Owatonna, you’ll collaborate with operations and marketing, manage records, and uphold safety standards while delivering a smooth recruitment process with a focus on candidate

Qualifications

• Proven experience in driver recruitment or related field.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and CDL requirements.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with recruitment tools, ATS software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Driver Recruitment: Develop and execute strategies to recruit CDL drivers through various channels such as job boards, social media, referrals, and events.
• Conduct phone screens, interviews, and pre-qualification assessments to ensure candidates meet company and DOT requirements.
• Relationship Building: Establish and maintain positive relationships with prospective and current drivers to promote retention.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for driver candidates throughout the hiring process, ensuring a seamless and professional experience.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all candidates meet DOT and company hiring standards, including background checks, drug screenings, and driving record reviews.
• Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities, candidate progress, and compliance documentation.
• Collaboration & Communication: Partner with operations to understand staffing needs and hiring timelines; coordinate with marketing for recruitment campaigns.
• Develop and implement driver onboarding programs to ensure new hires are set up for success.
• Monitor driver satisfaction and address issues impacting retention.
