TraLo Inc. in Owatonna, MN is seeking an In-House Driver Recruiter to source, hire, and retain CDL drivers for our freight operations across the U.S. and Canada. Based in Owatonna, you will handle DOT compliance and oversee the recruitment lifecycle.

You will partner with operations and marketing to meet staffing needs, develop onboarding programs, and ensure a seamless candidate experience. Base salary $50k–$70k with incentives and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in driver recruitment or HR in transportation.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and CDL requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with ATS software and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Recruit CDL drivers through job boards, social media, referrals and events.
• Screen, interview, and pre-qualify candidates per DOT and company standards.
• Establish and maintain relationships with drivers to promote retention.
• Serve as the primary contact for candidates throughout the hiring process.
• Ensure compliance with background checks, drug screenings, and driving records.
• Collaborate with operations and marketing on recruiting campaigns.
• Develop onboarding programs to set new hires up for success.
• Monitor driver satisfaction and address retention issues.

About the Role

The In-House Driver Recruiter at Tralo Companies is responsible for sourcing, hiring, and retaining qualified CDL drivers to meet operational needs. Based in Owatonna, MN, this role ensures a smooth recruitment process, and compliance with DOT regulations, and fosters strong relationships to support driver satisfaction and retention.

What You'll Do

• Driver Recruitment
• Develop and execute strategies to recruit CDL drivers through various channels, including job boards, social media, referral programs, and industry networking events.
• Conduct phone screens, interviews, and pre-qualification assessments to ensure candidates meet company and DOT requirements.
• Relationship Building
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with prospective and current drivers to promote retention.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for driver candidates throughout the hiring process, ensuring a seamless and professional experience.
• Compliance & Documentation
• Ensure all candidates meet DOT and company hiring standards, including background checks, drug screenings, and driving record reviews.
• Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities, candidate progress, and compliance documentation.
• Collaboration & Communication
• Partner with the operations team to understand driver staffing needs and hiring timelines.
• Work closely with marketing to create effective recruitment campaigns and materials.
• Develop and implement driver onboarding programs to ensure new hires are set up for success.
• Monitor driver satisfaction and address any issues that may impact retention.

What You'll Need

• Proven experience in driver recruitment, human resources, or a related field (transportation industry experience preferred).
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and CDL driver requirements.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with recruitment tools, ATS software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
