Modern Disposal Services, Inc. in Buffalo, NY seeks a Driver Supervisor to direct Drivers and Driver Helpers, ensuring safe, efficient waste collection and high customer service.

The role is the first line supervisor for crew productivity and route execution. You will oversee route optimization with the Routing team, enforce DOT and safety standards, manage labor hours and budgets, and develop the team through coaching and performance feedback.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Ability to interface effectively with people at all levels and communicate clearly.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of Drivers and Driver Helpers to provide safe, effective service.
• Lead drivers to exceed productivity goals and optimize routes with the Routing team.
• Ensure DOT safety, regulatory and company standards are met.
• Manage labor hours and disposal expenses per plans; control overtime.
• Provide coaching, feedback and performance management to staff.
• Resolve service issues and communicate with customers as needed.
