Job summary

Empire Livestock LLC seeks a Transportation Supervisor to oversee drivers at the assigned terminal/distribution center. You will create daily schedules, manage routes for efficiency, monitor safety and customer service, and coordinate with maintenance and HR.

Strong leadership, knowledge of DOT regulations, and proficiency in routing software are essential. This role requires the ability to coach staff and ensure compliance with PMO and GMP standards.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of distribution, logistics, and/or transportation experience with leadership attributes or supervisory experience
• Class A CDL in state of residence as required; tanker, doubles/triples endorsements as required; milk sampler/hauler license if needed
• Must read, write and speak English; strong communication and supervisory skills

Responsibilities

• Provide daily work direction to professional drivers to ensure safe and efficient operations and to meet customer requirements; maintain daily activity assignments of tractors, trailers, trucks, and drivers
• Monitor daily activity to adjust load assignments and communicate with drivers, dispatch, and other locations
• Maintain up-to-date routes and use routing software to improve efficiency and meet customer demands
• Create employee schedules, approve time, resolve timekeeping issues, monitor overtime
• Ensure daily paperwork for each load is completed for DOT reporting and other records
• Prepare and distribute operational KPI reports
• Build positive relationships with customers to ensure optimal service
• Hold drivers accountable for professional interactions and safety; resolve issues
• Collaborate with fleet maintenance to keep equipment in good condition
• Oversee training and coaching to meet performance, safety, and compliance goals
• Train drivers on procedures for equipment and operations; conduct investigations on accidents and safety concerns
• Coordinate with HR on recruitment, discipline, and staff development
• Communicate with supervisors, employees, and customers to improve transportation functions
• Be available for emergencies or on-call; participate in rotation if applicable
• Other duties as assigned
