Mesilla Valley Transportation in Laredo, TX is hiring a Driver Orientation Coordinator to oversee the daily orientation flow for new and returning drivers. You will coordinate schedules, documents, safety requirements, and onboarding with Safety, Processing, HR, Recruiting, Operations, and Driver Training and Development to ensure a seamless experience.

You will backfill the Orientation Instructor when needed, maintain accurate rosters, and drive improvements based on driver feedback.

Formación

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years in transportation, driver recruitment, safety, training, HR, or operations.
• At least 1 year of leadership or process-coordination experience.
• Knowledge of onboarding, DOT-regulated qualification processes, and confidential records.
• Ability to learn Driver Orientation Instructor role and processor duties.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related systems; industry platforms preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and coordinate the daily driver-orientation schedule, materials, rooms, equipment, testing, meals, transportation, and logistics at the Laredo terminal.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers attending orientation and ensure clear communication before arrival and through hiring.
• Coordinate with Safety to confirm DOT requirements, drug-testing status, policy updates, and records completion.
• Coordinate with Processing and Recruiting to review application status, gather missing items, and route documents.
• Support Processing by collecting missing driver documents and assisting with file transmission.
• Coordinate with HR regarding onboarding, benefits, and employee questions; escalate concerns as needed.
• Maintain an accurate daily roster, attendance, testing status, and final disposition for each driver.
• Lead cross-department check-ins and escalate missing docs or issues impacting completion.
• Ensure drivers receive consistent, timely, professional orientation and understand next steps.
• Review orientation results and feedback to identify gaps and drive improvements.
• Maintain supplies, forms, training aids, and contingency plans for orientation operations.
• Provide regular status updates and performance metrics to management on attendance and completion rates.
