Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation, is seeking a Driver License Examiner to help applicants understand the rules of the road, assess driving ability, and issue license products in a full-time capacity.

You will evaluate vision and physical qualifications, review documents for authenticity, and provide guidance on renewals, transfers, and special licenses while upholding REAL ID and Title VI policies.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant or equivalent.
• Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.

Responsibilities

• Assess driving ability, physical qualifications, and vision results.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical readiness and proper equipment.
• Verify identity, residency, and citizenship records for authenticity.
• Process licensing tasks: complete applications, test results, and issue license products.
• Support customer needs: provide guidance on renewals, transfers, and specialty license requirements.
• Maintain standards: follow policies for customer service, REAL ID, fee waivers, and Title VI.
