Cox Fleet, headquartered in Indianapolis, seeks a CDL A Driver – Vehicle Porter to join its Shop Team. The role drives shuttle trips between the maintenance shop and customers and picks up/delivers parts, ensuring timely service and strong customer relations.

You will support safety and maintenance goals, read maps and GPS, and comply with DOT/FMCSA rules. Requirements include a Class A CDL, 1–3 years driving.

Formación

• HS diploma or GED with up to 3 years in a related field, or 5 years in related experience.
• Valid Class A CDL.
• 1–3 years CDL driving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and maneuver heavy equipment.
• Able to read/follow maps, routes, and GPS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; customer service focus.
• DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical per FMCSA.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Clean driving record (3 YR MVR) and valid state license; ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Cox Fleet is currently hiring a CDL A Driver – Vehicle Porter to join our Shop Team to support the future growth of the Company.

Duties:

• Shuttle commercial vehicles to be repaired or post repairs between our maintenance shop and our customers in the surrounding area - be home every evening.
• Pick up and deliver parts from local parts stores/distribution centres back to our maintenance shop.
• Provide excellent customer service by going above and beyond customers’ expectations.
• Contributes to achievement of Maintenance Shop department goals and objectives.
• Maintains a safe and compliant working environment.
• Attend management meetings when requested.
• Other duties as assigned to meet business requirements.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years’ experience in a related field.
• A valid Class A commercial driver’s licence (CDL).
• Between 1 and 3 years of CDL driving experience.
• The ability to lift to 75 pounds and manoeuvre heavy equipment.
• The ability to read/follow maps, routes, and GPS system.
• Experience in positions demonstrates the ability to provide exceptional customer service to external and internal contacts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organisation.
• Familiarity with the local geography.
• This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
• A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.
• Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older.
• Safe drivers needed and 3 YR MVR review required; Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s licence, be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.
