Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a CDL A Driver – Vehicle Porter to join our Shop Team in Wisconsin. You will shuttle vehicles between our shop and customers, pick up parts from local stores, and ensure safe, timely service while delivering excellent customer care.

The role requires 1–3 years of CDL driving, strong map/GPS skills, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. DOT compliance and a clean MVR are essential for daily duties.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 3 years related experience; or other combinations.
• Between 1 and 3 years of CDL driving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and maneuver heavy equipment.
• Read and follow maps, routes, and GPS guidance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication at all levels.
• Familiarity with local geography.
• Must comply with DOT/FMCSA pre-employment screenings and DOT medical card rules.
• Must be 21 years or older and have a valid state driver's license.
• Maintain DQF file and clean driving record per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Shuttle commercial vehicles between maintenance shop and customer locations; be home every evening.
• Pick up and deliver parts from local stores/distribution centers to the shop.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients and internal teams.
• Contribute to maintenance shop goals and maintain a safe, compliant work environment.

Duties

• Shuttle commercial vehicles to be repaired or post repairs between our maintenance shop and our customers in the surrounding area - be home every evening.
• Pick up and deliver parts from local parts stores/distribution centers back to our maintenance shop.
• Provide excellent customer service by going above and beyond customers’ expectations.
• Contributes to achievement of Maintenance Shop department goals and objectives.
• Maintains a safe and compliant working environment.
• Attend management meetings when requested.
• Other duties as assigned to meet business requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years’ experience in a related field.
• Between 1 and 3 years of CDL driving experience.
• The ability to lift to 75 pounds and maneuver heavy equipment.
• The ability to read/follow maps, routes, and GPS system.
• Experience in positions demonstrates the ability to provide exceptional customer service to external and internal contacts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Familiarity with the local geography.
• This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
• A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in leu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.
• Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older.
• Safe drivers needed and 3 YR MVR review required; Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license, be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.
