Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a CDL A Driver – Vehicle Porter to join our Shop Team in Wisconsin. You will shuttle commercial vehicles to be repaired or post-repairs between our maintenance shop and customers, and you will be home every evening.

The role requires 1–3 years of CDL driving experience, a High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent), the ability to lift 75 pounds, read maps and GPS routes, and a commitment to safety and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field, or equivalent combination.
• Between 1 and 3 years of CDL driving experience.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Shuttle vehicles between maintenance shop and customers; be home every evening.
• Pickup and deliver parts from local stores/distribution centers to the shop.
• Provide excellent customer service to external and internal contacts.
• Contributes to achievement of Maintenance Shop department goals and objectives.
• Maintains a safe and compliant working environment.
• Attend management meetings when requested.

Cox Fleet is currently hiring a CDL A Driver – Vehicle Porter to join our Shop Team to support the future growth of the Company.

Duties:

• Shuttle commercial vehicles to be repaired or post repairs between our maintenance shop and our customers in the surrounding area - be home every evening.
• Pick up and deliver parts from local parts stores/distribution centers back to our maintenance shop.
• Provide excellent customer service by going above and beyond customers’ expectations.
• Contributes to achievement of Maintenance Shop department goals and objectives.
• Maintains a safe and compliant working environment.
• Attend management meetings when requested.
• Other duties as assigned to meet business requirements.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years’ experience in a related field.
• Between 1 and 3 years of CDL driving experience.
• The ability to lift to 75 pounds and maneuver heavy equipment.
• The ability to read/follow maps, routes, and GPS system.
• Experience in positions demonstrates the ability to provide exceptional customer service to external and internal contacts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Familiarity with the local geography.
• This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
• A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in leu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.
• Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, candidates must be at least 21 years or older.
• Safe drivers needed and 3 YR MVR review required; Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license, be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.
