Job summary

Oakmont Management Group is hiring a Bus Driver in Santa Clara, CA to operate community vehicles for outings and resident appointments. You will transport residents safely, assist with loading and unloading, and follow all state and federal driving laws.

The role requires a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement, a high school diploma, and 2+ years of passenger-transport experience. Candidates must pass background and health screenings and may need COVID-related precautions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement.
• Prefer two years of experience driving a vehicle transporting people.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, residents and families.
• Must pass background check and health screenings including TB tests.
• Vaccination and COVID precautions may be required per regulatory guidelines.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour (depends on experience)

Responsibilities

• Operate community vehicles safely on outings, excursions, special activities, and personal resident appointments.
• Assist with the safe loading of residents and their belongings onto and off‑of community vehicles.
• Follow all state and federal laws when operating community vehicles.
• Comply with standards and processes for proper vehicle inspection and driving. Demonstrate safe driving in getting residents transported. Observe speed limits yet remain punctual and safe in transporting people.
• Act as a member of the activity staff when on outings/excursions and within the community.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co‑workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement to drive the bus.
• Prefer two (2) years of experience driving a vehicle/van/bus transporting people.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• May be required to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of COVID‑19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
