Job summary

Ivy Park at Otay Ranch in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Transport/Activity Assistant to operate community vehicles for outings and resident appointments. You will load residents and belongings, comply with laws, and ensure safety and punctual transport within the community.

Requirements include 21+ years old, a Class B or C license with Passenger Endorsement, and excellent communication with staff, residents, and families. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement to drive the bus.
• Prefer two years of experience driving a vehicle transporting people.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with employees, residents, and families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including TB tests.

Responsibilities

• Operate community vehicles safely on outings, excursions, special activities, and personal resident appointments.
• Assist with the safe loading of residents and their belongings onto and off of community vehicles.
• Follow all state and federal laws when operating community vehicles.
• Comply with standards and processes for proper vehicle inspection and driving; demonstrate safe driving and punctual transport of residents.
• Act as a member of the activity staff during outings and within the community.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests, following safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour (depends on experience)

Responsibilities

• Operate community vehicles safely on outings, excursions, special activities, and personal resident appointments.
• Assist with the safe loading of residents and their belongings onto and off‑of community vehicles.
• Follow all state and federal laws when operating community vehicles.
• Comply with standards and processes for proper vehicle inspection and driving. Demonstrate safe driving in getting residents transported. Observe speed limits yet remain punctual and safe in transporting people.
• Act as a member of the activity staff when on outings/excursions and within the community.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co‑workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement to drive the bus.
• Prefer two (2) years of experience driving a vehicle/van/bus transporting people.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• May be required to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of COVID‑19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
