Job summary

Sysco Detroit, LLC is seeking a Driver Check In Associate to process driver returns and document quantities, values and condition of materials. The role ensures proper handling of pallets, totes and company property after routes.

The candidate will verify returns, ensure safety protocols, and update exception reports while communicating effectively with Credit Services and Food Safety personnel.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• 1 year of pallet jack and/or forklift experience.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of an organization.
• Exemplary listening skills to facilitate effective two- way communication.
• Can add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Solid problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Check-in drivers after routes by verifying returns, signed invoices and possible missed deliveries; account for pallets, totes and property.
• Identify missed collections and notify Credit Services.
• Ensure food safety protocols were followed on the return and coordinate with Food Safety personnel for issues.
• Note delivery exceptions on the invoice and/or delivery exception report.
• Inspect returned products to determine restocking or credit eligibility.
• Code the appropriate reason on invoices for efficient processing; apply damage codes to damaged items.
• Separate and stage returns, count items to match the return sheet and invoices.
• List overages on the return sheet to re-enter product into the inventory system.
