US Foods in Allentown, PA is seeking a Driver Check-In Clerk to support warehouse operations. The role involves verifying returns, ensuring accurate coding and temperature compliance, processing documents, unloading trailers, and aiding drivers and supervisors with issues and process improvements.

Average schedule is Monday–Friday, 10:00am–6:30pm, with benefits starting on day one. Strong math, clear communication, and teamwork are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: minimum of three years with warehouse & delivery procedures.
• Must communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and have strong math and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Verify returned product for accurate reason codes to ensure reports reflect correct data.
• Verify returned product is within temperature guidelines to maintain integrity.
• Process documents (paper and digital) related to returns and adjustments to orders.
• Unload backhaul trailers using powered equipment and move product to correct zone.
• Inspect returned product for disposition and apply proper coding.
• Run end of day processes and address discrepancies.
• Return saleable product to pick slot where allowed.
• Assist drivers/transportation supervisors and address training needs and process improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Verify returned product for accurate reason codes (mispicks, driver shorts, refusals) to ensure accounting reports reflect accurate data.
• Verify returned product is within temperature guidelines to maintain product integrity
• Process all documents (paper and digital) associated with returns and adjustments to customer orders to ensure inventory accuracy and customer invoice accuracy
• Unload backhaul trailers using powered industrial equipment and transport product to correct warehouse zone.
• Inspect all product returned for appropriate disposition (saleable, damage/recuperation, damage/out of code dumps, etc...) and ensure proper coding is applied.
• Execute end of day processes and reports, ensuring all discrepancies are researched and addressed.
• Return saleable product to pick slot (where allowed; see local CBA)
• Assist drivers and transportation supervisors to address any issues and address training/retraining needs and process improvement opportunities.

NOTE: Employee will be working in variable temperatures and workstation is located on the cooler dock.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Related Experience: A minimum of three years of experience with warehouse & delivery procedures required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be able to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally, strong math skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, basic computer skills. Must be able to work on complex tasks and prioritize workload. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to be a resource to others in the division.

Physical Requirements: Frequent, sitting, standing and walking, occasional lifting of 20 lb. weights. Must be able to operate a computer and perform filing.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $16.35 and $27.24.

As applicable, this role may also receive overtime compensation.
