US Foods in Allentown, PA is hiring a CDL A Delivery Driver. The role focuses on safe, timely delivery and direct customer service, with 100% touch freight and routine pre/post-trip inspections. Compensation includes a $5,000 retention bonus and hourly base pay during training, rising after training.

Qualifications

• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Minimum 6-months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR 3-months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry.
• Must be able to read and communicate in English.
• Ability to operate manual transmission is preferred; may be required in specific locations.

• Deliver products to customers safely and on time.
• Safely unload products using two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand (100% touch freight).
• Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
• Provide professional customer service during delivery.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.

The CDL A Delivery Driver role goes beyond simply transporting goods - it’s about perfecting the craft of delivery, earning trust mile by mile, and serving as a vital link to our customers.Key ResponsibilitiesSafe Driving: Deliver products to our customers in a timely and safe manner.Unloading: Skillfully unload products efficiently using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand, placing them in the designated storage areas – 100% touch freight.Delivery Verification: Verify deliveries with customers & secure signatures.Customer Service: Provide professional service to enhance customer experience.Equipment Inspection: Conduct pre- & post-trip inspections to uphold safety standards.Account Management: Handle collections and payments when applicable.Adaptability: All other duties assigned by management.Physical RequirementsLift/carry/push/pull/lower 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required.Driving & working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required.Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment as low as 0 degrees.Continuously grasp objects & manipulate objects.
