The role includes lifting up to 100 pounds and providing customer service at pick-up/delivery points. Starting pay is $25.64 per hour. Duties may involve road driving, using forklifts, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires Class A CDL or CLP before entering job classification.
• Must have acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR FMC rules.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down trailers with heavy lift demands.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds several times a day.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, squat and climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies as required.
• Handle freight with forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Collect checks for freight charges and maintain related documentation.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding, as required.
• Communicate with Dispatch to manage delays, arrivals, or equipment issues.
• Provide internal and external customer service and determine pickup/delivery needs.
• Offer additional business leads to sales as appropriate.
• Support road driver or freight handler duties when needed.
• Chain vehicle tires, when necessary.
• Comply with all laws and company policies.
