Qualifications

• CDL A or Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) required.
• MVR must meet hiring standards.
• DOT 391 regulatory requirements must be met.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operates tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Completes pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections.
• Hooks/unhooks trailers and converter dollies.
• Handles freight using pallet jacks, forklifts, and hand trucks.
• Secures freight with pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoups or repairs damaged freight as needed.
• Completes required documentation and reports.
• Collects checks for freight charges and maintains related records.
• Complies with hazmat regulations and placarding.
• Communicates with Dispatch about delays, arrivals and equipment issues.
• Provides internal and external customer service.
• Discusses pick-up or delivery needs with customers.
• Pursues additional business opportunities and passes leads to sales.
• Where necessary, performs road driver or freight handler duties.
• Chains vehicle tires as required.
• Complies with laws and company policies.
• Performs other duties as required.
