Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver with a Class A CDL or CLP to operate tractor-trailer units and perform forklift and dock duties as part of daily operations.

You will conduct safety inspections, secure freight, and handle paperwork while maintaining a focus on customer service and safety compliance. This role requires the ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL or CLP.
• MVR must meet hiring standards set by the carrier.
• DOT/FMC regulatory knowledge is required.
• Able to perform basic math and read/write in English.
• Capable of lifting 100 pounds repeatedly.
• May work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-/post-trip and inter-trip inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies as needed.
• Handle freight with motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, rope.
• Complete required documentation and reports accurately.
• Communicate with Dispatch about delays, arrivals, or problems.
• Assist customers with pickup/delivery needs and generate sales leads.
• Comply with hazmat rules and company procedures.
