Job summary

ND Defense LLC is seeking a Driveline Systems Engineer in Michigan to drive driveline design across multiple vehicle programs, from concept to prototype support and on‑floor problem solving.

You will work on electric and hybrid drive components, collaborate across programs and suppliers, and help shape documentation and standardization as processes evolve. A background in automotive/defense heavy vehicles is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of driveline, powertrain, or chassis engineering experience in automotive/defense/heavy vehicle contexts.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools: Creo, NX, CATIA or similar.
• Bonus for knowledge of transmissions, driveshafts, transfer cases, axles, wheel ends, or tires.
• Interest in AI tools is a plus.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident/Green Card Holder).

Responsibilities

• Work on driveline systems—including electric and hybrid drive components—for new vehicles and platform upgrades.
• Juggle multiple programs and supplier relationships as priorities shift.
• Tackle packaging, durability, and torsional problems with minimal guidance.
• Help document and standardize driveline engineering processes as they evolve.
• Get on the shop floor during builds and testing to solve fit and assembly issues.
• Bring curiosity for AI tools to speed up day-to-day work.
