Job summary

ND Defense LLC is seeking a Driveline Systems Engineer in Michigan to drive driveline design across multiple vehicle programs, from concept to prototype support and on‑floor problem solving.

You will work on electric and hybrid drive components, collaborate across programs and suppliers, and help shape documentation and standardization as processes evolve. A background in automotive/defense heavy vehicles is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of driveline, powertrain, or chassis engineering experience in automotive/defense/heavy vehicle contexts.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools: Creo, NX, CATIA or similar.
• Bonus for knowledge of transmissions, driveshafts, transfer cases, axles, wheel ends, or tires.
• Interest in AI tools is a plus.

Driveline Systems Engineer

In this role, you'll take on driveline work across several vehicle programs, with a mix of design, hands‑on prototype support, and day‑to‑day problem‑solving. No two weeks look the same, and the people who thrive here are comfortable shifting priorities without losing track of the details.

What You'll Do

We're Looking For

• A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or something related
• 3 or more years of experience in driveline, powertrain, or chassis engineering — automotive, defense, or heavy vehicle background all work
• Comfort reading and working with 3D CAD (Creo, NX, CATIA, or similar)
• Bonus if you know your way around transmissions, driveshafts, transfer cases, axles, wheel ends, or tires
• An interest in AI tools is a plus — not required to walk in the door with it
