Job summary

Sonic Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead daily drive-in operations and staff during assigned shifts. You will train and direct team members, manage lineups, and ensure a high-quality guest experience.

The role requires restaurant management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle opening/closing duties, while maintaining safety and compliance with laws and company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months restaurant management experience or one year of retail management experience.
• Experience running a restaurant shift without supervision.
• General restaurant or retail knowledge.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws (wage/hour, EEO, etc.).
• Knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations.
• Basic computer, math, and reading skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication; problem-solving and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Train, manage, direct, coach, lead, and assign shift employees.
• Lead drive-in operations during shift to ensure top guest experience.
• Staffing management during shift.
• Perform opening and/or closing duties.
• Handle customer and employee issues escalated during shift.
• Monitor food, labor, and inventory for cost-control and quality.
