Job summary

SONIC Drive-In in Colby, KS is seeking a General Manager to lead daily operations, training crews and driving exceptional guest experiences. You will open/close the restaurant, schedule staff, monitor inventory, and ensure compliance with policies and health standards.

You will interview, hire, and coach team members, develop action plans for performance, and implement a local marketing plan to grow sales. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business, restaurant management or related fields preferred.
• Minimum of two years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred), experience running shifts without supervision.
• Must work a minimum 5-day workweek with 4 closing shifts (or 4-day week guaranteed) including irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices.
• Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as local health and sanitation laws and regulations.
• Leadership and supervisory practices; effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic accounting and computer skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy; multi-task and problem-solve.
• Strong decision-making and conflict-resolution skills.
• Willingness to abide by SONIC appearance, uniform and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Manages, trains, monitors and coaches Crew/Team members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Directs and assigns drive-in restaurant employees to meet standards.
• Adheres to employee handbook, policies and practices.
• Performs restaurant opening and/or closing duties.
• Prepares employee schedules; adjusts staffing as needed.
• Monitors inventory and places orders within cost controls.
• Maintains employment records and payroll records.
• Reinforces customer service focus and ensures staff serve customers well.
• Resolves guest requests promptly and helps resolve complaints.
• Interviews and hires staff to achieve staffing levels.
• Prepares operational reports and develops action plans for sales trends.
• Develops and implements a marketing plan.
