Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking a General Manager in Austin, TX, to lead a drive-in restaurant team and uphold high standards of service and safety. You will train staff, manage scheduling, and drive daily performance across food quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include directing crew, monitoring compliance, handling opening/closing duties, and developing action plans to address sales trends while maintaining cost controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years restaurant management experience in a QSR setting preferred.
• Must work a minimum 5-day week with 4 closing shifts or 4-day week guaranteed, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of federal/state labor laws and local health regulations; ability to supervise and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coach Crew/Team members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Schedule and adjust staffing to meet service demands.
• Monitor adherence to employee handbook, policies and practices.
• Open or close the restaurant as needed.
• Ensure food is delivered safely and to standard.
• Maintain inventory, place orders within cost controls.
• Record payroll and employment-related documents accurately.
• Foster a customer-service mentality and resolve guest requests.
• Hire and interview staff to achieve proper staffing levels.
• Prepare operational reports and action plans against sales trends.
• Develop and implement a marketing plan.
