Job summary

SONIC Drive-In in Austin, TX is seeking a dedicated General Manager to lead a drive-in restaurant team and ensure outstanding guest experiences. You will train crews, manage shifts, oversee inventory, and implement plans to improve efficiency and sales while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, staffing, and problem-solving abilities, plus the ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business or restaurant management preferred.
• Minimum two years restaurant management experience (QSR preferred).
• Ability to work a 5-day week with irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices.
• Familiarity with federal/state labor laws and local health/sanitation rules.
• Strong leadership, communication, and supervisory skills.
• Basic accounting and computer skills; ability to multi-task and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Manage, train, monitor, and coach crew, carhops, and skating carhops.
• Direct and assign staff to meet operational standards.
• Prepare schedules and adjust staffing as needed.
• Monitor inventory and place orders within cost controls.
• Maintain payroll and employment records.
• Resolve guest requests and handle complaints with professionalism.
• Interview and hire staff to maintain proper staffing levels.
• Prepare operational reports and implement action plans to address sales trends.
• Develop and implement marketing plans.
