Job summary

SONIC Drive-In in Austin, Texas seeks a General Manager to lead daily operations, train crew, and ensure safe, high-quality food service. You will schedule staff, monitor inventory, and implement action plans to improve performance. The role demands strong leadership, restaurant-management experience, and knowledge of labor laws.

The GM will drive guest satisfaction, develop marketing plans, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards while managing payroll and reporting responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business/restaurant management preferred.
• Minimum two years of restaurant management experience, preferably QSR, with shift supervision experience.
• Ability to work a minimum 5 days per week including irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and selection practices.
• Knowledge of federal/state labor laws and health/sanitation regulations.
• Strong leadership, supervisory skills, and effective verbal/written communication.
• Basic accounting and computer skills; ability to follow directions and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coaches crew, carhops, and management staff to meet service standards.
• Manages scheduling and staffing levels to optimize operations and costs.
• Ensures compliance with employee handbook and company policies.
• Oversees opening/closing duties and payroll records.
• Maintains inventory, places orders within cost controls, and analyzes financial performance.
• Develops and implements marketing plans to drive sales and guest satisfaction.
