Job summary

HDR invites an accomplished Drinking Water Market Sector Lead to shape and drive water-related projects across the organization. You will manage senior teams, mentor staff, and oversee client relationships with public water agencies while aligning with HDR’s strategic direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering, planning or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
• Experience in developing and managing strategic marketing programs for planning/engineering services.
• Experience in managing client relationships and program/project pursuits.
• Experience in staff development including recruiting and growth.
• Active involvement with industry associations and market visibility.
• Ability to collaborate with HDR leadership teams across regions.
• Commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to identify pursuits and lead pursuit teams.
• Set vision, goals, and growth initiatives for the drinking water sector.
• Act as client manager for select drinking water agencies and oversee others.
• Coordinate with regional and national leaders to advance capabilities.
• Lead multi-discipline project design teams and manage budgets and scope.
• Direct and monitor complex multidisciplinary projects with high technical complexity.
• Prepare and review civil engineering scope and fee estimates for proposals.
• Track project budgets and staffing needs; review workload.
• Mentor staff and conduct performance reviews; promote professional growth.
• Ensure quality control and align projects with HDR standards.
