Boart Longyear is seeking a motivated Driller Assistant to support drilling crews across diverse sites in the western U.S. The role emphasizes hands-on training, safety, and growth within a respected industry leader.

You will assist in rigging, material handling, sample collection, and equipment maintenance while embracing long shift cycles and travel between sites. Boart Longyear provides paid training, overtime, and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Willing to travel to worksites throughout multiple states (NV, UT, AZ, CO, etc.).
• Able to commute long distances for shifts (300+ miles).
• Willing to work in remote locations and all-weather environments.
• Willing to work 12+ hour shifts for 14–20 days at a time.
• Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and U.S. Work Authorization.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Must pass a Physical Functional Fitness Evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide semi-skilled labor for drilling crews, operating a variety of vehicles and equipment.
• Hauling supplies to/from drill sites and performing material handling.
• Mixing drilling fluids and assembling/disassembling drill rods.
• Collecting and labeling core samples; maintaining order and integrity of bags/cores.
• Building chip trays and assisting in rigging up/down; moving to new locations.
• Fueling site equipment and performing routine maintenance (oil changes, greasing, fueling).
• Conducting daily site, mast, and pre-shift inspections on equipment.
• Providing site inductions to visitors and managing parts inventory.
• Ensuring equipment life is maximized and operating safely; performing additional duties as assigned.
