Job summary

Boart Longyear in Salt Lake City, UT seeks a Large Rotary Driller Assistant to join its drilling crews. The role offers paid, hands-on training and a clear path to supervisory roles, with significant overtime potential and company-funded PPE. Expect to work 14–20 days on with 7–10 days off, travel to sites across the region, and participate in safety trainings from day one.

Qualifications

• Willing to travel to sites across multiple states including Utah and surrounding regions.
• Able to commute long distances for shifts (12+ hour days, 14–20 days at a time).
• Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and work authorization.
• Willing to undergo background checks, drug screening, and a physical fitness evaluation.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide semi-skilled labor to drilling crews and operate various equipment as needed.
• Haul supplies to and from the drill site and assist with rigging up/down.
• Assist in adding/removing drill rods and sample collection with proper labeling.
• Maintain site equipment, perform routine inspections, and manage inventory.
• Conduct site inductions for visitors and support ongoing safety practices.
