Job summary

Boart Longyear is recruiting for a Large Rotary Driller Assistant in Nevada. This role offers hands‑on drilling support, long shifts, and extensive on‑site training.

You will travel to multiple sites, operate vehicles and equipment, and assist the drilling crew while learning advanced techniques and safety practices. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 1 year of directly related drilling experience or related positions such as construction laborer, heavy laborer, mechanic, or mechanical work.
• Must have valid U.S. Driver’s License.
• Must pass background and drug screening.
• Must pass a Physical Functional Fitness Evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Hauling supplies to and from the drill site.
• Manual material handling.
• Mixing drilling fluids.
• Adding/removing rods to/from drill string.
• Sample collection and proper labeling.
• Build chip trays and assist in rigging up/down.
• Fueling equipment and conducting preventative maintenance.
• Complete daily site inspections and pre-shift checks.
• Provide site inductions to visitors.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory.
• Ensure optimal life of site equipment and tooling.
• Other duties as assigned by Driller/Field Supervisor.
