Job summary

Orion is seeking an Oilerman to maintain and grease engines, motors, and dredge machinery on-site. The role requires inspecting equipment for wear and ensuring safe operation, with support from the Chief Engineer.

Candidates should have 6 months to 1 year dredging experience, understand marine systems, and be able to work a 2 weeks on / 1 week off schedule, including 12-hour days. Safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year dredging experience required with marine equipment familiarity.
• Experience operating or maintaining marine engines, motors and related systems.
• Able to work a 2 weeks on / 1 week off schedule and 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate engines, motors, and machinery aboard the dredge.
• Inspect equipment for wear and proper operation; report issues promptly.
• Oil and grease critical components and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Keep engine room logs and downtime records; monitor gauges.
• Adhere to safety policies and participate in safety initiatives.
