Job summary

C&M Dredging is seeking a Dredge Oiler to perform preventive maintenance on diesel engines, pumps, and hydraulic systems, ensuring safe operation of dredging equipment. You will monitor machinery, assist with repairs, and keep maintenance records while following MSHA/OSHA standards.

This role requires outdoor work and a strong safety mindset. Ideal candidates have experience in marine/heavy equipment maintenance, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Dredge Oiler or in marine/heavy equipment maintenance.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Reliable transportation.
• Driver's License.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
• MSHA/OSHA certification a plus.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must pass a background check and drug test.

Job description

Performed preventive maintenance, lubrication, and servicing of diesel engines, pumps, hydraulic systems, generators, and other dredging equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Monitored machinery performance, conducted routine inspections, identified mechanical issues, and assisted with repairs to minimize downtime. Maintained fluid levels, changed filters, cleaned equipment, and kept accurate maintenance records. Worked closely with engineers, mechanics, and deck crews while following company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and lockout/tagout practices.
