Job summary

C&M Dredging in Lake City, FL, seeks a dedicated Dredge Oiler to perform preventive maintenance on diesel engines, pumps, hydraulics, and generators, monitor performance, and assist with repairs to minimize downtime.

The role requires lifting up to 75 pounds, outdoor work in varied weather, strict safety adherence, and collaboration with engineers and deck crews. MSHA/OSHA certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as a dredge oiler or in marine/heavy equipment maintenance.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot diesel engines, pumps and hydraulics.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in varied weather.
• Must pass a background check and drug test; driver license required.
• MSHA/OSHA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lubricate and maintain dredge and booster equipment and on-site heavy equipment.
• Assist with routine maintenance and repairs.

Job description

Performed preventive maintenance, lubrication, and servicing of diesel engines, pumps, hydraulic systems, generators, and other dredging equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Monitored machinery performance, conducted routine inspections, identified mechanical issues, and assisted with repairs to minimize downtime. Maintained fluid levels, changed filters, cleaned equipment, and kept accurate maintenance records. Worked closely with engineers, mechanics, and deck crews while following company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and lockout/tagout practices.
