Job summary

McFarland Johnson (MJ) is seeking a motivated Drainage / Stormwater Engineer to join our Water Resources Group in Acton, MA. You’ll perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, drainage design, and permitting across transportation, bridges, and site projects from planning through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental or water resources engineering required.
• 2–5 years of water resources, stormwater, drainage, or civil engineering experience.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic principles and stormwater design.
• Experience with modeling and design tools (CAD/GIS) and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for roadways, bridges, and drainage systems.
• Support drainage/stormwater design in accordance with regulations.
• Prepare calculations, reports, permits, plans, and cost estimates.
• Use H&H modeling, CAD, and GIS to support analysis and project delivery.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and multidisciplinary teams.
