Volkert, Inc. is seeking an entry/midlevel Drainage/Hydraulics Engineer in Training (E.I.) to support the Mid Atlantic Region located in Springfield, VA.

A Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering is required to be considered. The role involves assisting with assignments for VDOT and local municipalities, performing drainage and roadway infrastructure design tasks, and using MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, and related software to prepare plans, reports, and estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering.
• EIT (E.I) certification desired or the commitment to acquire it within 1 year.
• 1–4 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, Geopak, Civil3D, StormCAD, ORD, HEC-RAS, GIS and/or SUDA software (among other software).

Responsibilities

• Assists with various assignments for VDOT and local municipalities.
• Performs engineering deliverables associated with drainage and roadway infrastructure improvements.
• Assists and prepares project plans using MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, and/or AutoCADD.
• Contributes to the preparation and/or modification of engineering reports and calculations for a wide variety of projects.
• Works with senior staff to develop plans and calculations for transportation and drainage related projects.
• Performs the design of stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity requirements.
