Job summary

STV Incorporated in Austin, Texas is seeking a Drainage Engineer with 6 to 12 years of experience to support transportation infrastructure projects. You will advance drainage analysis and design, mentor teammates, and grow toward a Design Task Lead role within a collaborative engineering team.

Responsibilities include drainage design for road, bridge, and rail projects; hydrology/hydraulics analyses; stormwater permitting and regulatory coordination; technical reports and cost estimates; and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• P.E. license in Texas is required.
• 6–12 years of drainage design experience, preferably for transportation projects.
• Strong knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic analysis, stormwater, erosion and sediment control, BMPs, and LID.

Responsibilities

• Support drainage design for transportation infrastructure (roadway, highway, bridge, rail).
• Prepare stormwater management, drainage design, culvert calculations, hydraulic structures, BMPs, LID, and erosion control plans.
• Perform hydrology and hydraulic analyses to support design decisions and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with stormwater permitting and environmental regulatory coordination.
• Prepare technical reports, drainage reports, and cost estimates with quality and accuracy.
• Coordinate with roadway, structural, rail, and environmental teams for integrated delivery.
• Participate in design reviews and QA/QC, and attend client meetings.
