Job summary

STV is seeking a Drainage Engineer to support transportation infrastructure projects in our Austin, Texas office. This role targets a drainage professional with 6–12 years of experience eager to expand technical design capabilities and grow within a collaborative team.

You will contribute to high-profile drainage analysis and design work within TxDOT and local agencies, while gradually taking ownership, mentoring others, and pursuing a Design Task Lead path.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• CR
• Texas P.E. license required.
• CR
• 6–12 years of drainage design experience for transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Support drainage design for transportation projects (roadway, bridge, rail).
• Prepare stormwater and drainage design, culvert calculations, BMPs and LID features.
• Perform hydrology and hydraulic analyses to support decisions and permits.
• Assist with stormwater permitting and regulatory coordination.
• Prepare technical reports, drainage reports, and cost estimates with accuracy.
• Coordinate with roadway, structural, rail and environmental teams.
• Participate in internal design reviews and QA/QC.
• Attend meetings with clients, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies.
