Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Drainage Project Engineer to support the Southwest Region across multiple TX locations, including Austin, Houston, and more. Candidates should have 4+ years of drainage/water resources and TxDOT experience.

You will collect data for plans and reports, design stormwater systems with OpenRoads Designer and related tools, and model hydrologic/hydraulic systems for transportation projects, while mentoring junior staff and collaborating across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred or obtainable within 6 months.
• 4–6 years of drainage/water resources and TxDOT experience.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer, Storm CAD, ICPR, HEC‑RAS, GIS and/or SUDA.
• Familiarity with TxDOT design standards and procedures.

Responsabilités

• Collect and analyze data for project plans and reports.
• Design stormwater and storm drain systems; model hydrology and hydraulics.
• Prepare project plans, reports, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Review drawings for compliance with project requirements.
