Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineering Specialist to assist on hydrologic and hydraulic analysis within our Transportation Group based in our New York City, NY office.

Key responsibilities include drainage design for public and private projects, coordinating with agencies for permits, and helping manage scope and schedule for technical reports and design documents. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of relevant experience and PE/EIT eligibility.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain is required.
• 5–10 years of experience; training may be provided for the right candidate.
• Experience with stormwater management design, hydraulics, and green infrastructure.
• Experience with SWPPP development and permitting; NY/NJ/Army Corps familiarity a plus.
• Proficiency with HEC-RAS, TR-55, SWMM; knowledge of culverts and bridges helpful.
• Willingness to learn sanitary and stormwater pump station design.

Responsibilities

• Drainage design for public and private stormwater projects from inception to final design.
• Coordinate with agencies to obtain sign-offs and permit approvals.
• Support management with scope and schedule strategies for technical reports and design documents.
