Job summary

DNREC in Delaware seeks an Engineer I to support the Drainage Program. You will plan, develop tax ditch and drainage improvement projects, process survey data using Civil 3D, and update designs under supervision.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil and Environmental Engineering or FE exam passing; telework and flexible schedules are available. You will review plans, provide guidance, and help maintain statewide drainage systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or expected graduation within 9 months) in Civil and Environmental Engineering or official passing notice of the FE examination in Civil and Environmental from NCEES.

Responsibilities

• Drafts, develops and modifies engineering designs, plans and specifications.
• Reviews permit applications, blueprints and designs to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Applies the principles and theories of science and mathematics to research and develop solutions to technical problems.
• Plans and conducts field studies, surveys, research and development projects, inspections and investigations to collect data and ensure conformance to state/federal laws.
• Tests or evaluates materials, equipment, systems and facilities.
• Plans and coordinates engineering projects.
• Reviews, analyzes and reports on the status of projects and regulatory conformance.
• Develops cost estimates for project time and materials.
• Provides technical guidance and training to technical staff.
