Job summary

Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) is seeking engineers to support the Drainage Program. The Engineer I role focuses on planning, data processing with Civil 3D, and development of drainage improvement designs across the state, under supervision.

Eligible candidates may qualify for the sign-on bonus program ($4,000–$7,000 depending on the level) and telework/alternative work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental or FE in Civil/Environmental is required.
• Telework and flexible schedules are available under state policy.
• Knowledge of hydro modeling and drainage design is relevant.

Responsibilities

• Drafts, develops and modifies engineering designs, plans and specifications.
• Reviews permits, blueprints and designs for compliance.
• Plans and coordinates engineering projects and field studies.
• Develops cost estimates for projects and materials.
• Provides technical guidance to staff.
