Job summary

DNREC is seeking an Engineer I to provide engineering support for the Drainage Program, developing tax ditch and drainage improvement designs and reviewing submitted plans for compliance.

Under supervision, you will draft designs using Civil 3D, coordinate field studies, and help maintain tax ditch systems across the state. Telework options may be available; two-year employment commitment is required for sign-on bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or anticipated graduation date within 9 months) in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination in Civil and Environmental engineering as issued by NCEES.

Responsibilities

• Drafts, develops and modifies engineering designs, plans and specifications for drainage projects.
• Reviews permit applications, blueprints and designs to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Applies engineering principles to research and develop solutions for technical problems.
