Job summary

DNREC is seeking Engineers I–IV to perform permitting and compliance work for facilities in Delaware. The role focuses on air permits, construction and operation oversight, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations to protect air quality in Delaware.

Selected candidates must hold a Bachelor's in an engineering discipline or have FE eligibility, with telework options available. Two-year commitment and sign-on bonus incentives apply for new hires.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in one of the specified engineering disciplines or anticipated graduation date within 9 months.
• Official notice of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination (NCEES) in the assigned discipline.

Responsibilities

• Drafts, develops and modifies engineering designs, plans and specifications.
• Reviews permit applications and designs to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Plans and conducts field studies, surveys and investigations to collect data and support regulatory conformance.
• Tests or evaluates materials, equipment, systems and facilities.
• Develops cost estimates for project time and materials.
