Job summary

Roth is hiring a Drain Service Technician to join our Oregon team. You will perform residential drain cleaning, jetting, cabling, and related service work, and provide camera inspections within 24 hours of reported issues.

You will diagnose drain/sewer problems and clearly explain findings to customers, building strong relationships and delivering a professional, 5-star experience. Growth opportunities exist as you mentor apprentices and advance.

Qualifications

  • 1 year Drain Technician experience.
  • Knowledge of local plumbing codes is preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Professional attitude and ability to work independently while a team member.
  • Willingness to learn new technology and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform residential drain cleaning, jetting, cabling, and related service work.
  • Provide camera inspections for mainline stoppages within 24 hours of reported issue.
  • Diagnose drain/sewer issues and explain findings to customers.
  • Build strong customer relationships and deliver a 5-star experience.
  • Educate customers about sewer repairs, maintenance, and preventative solutions.
  • Take ownership of work, performance, and revenue goals.
  • Support and mentor apprentices as you grow.
  • Complete invoices, timecards, and related paperwork accurately.

What You’ll Do

As a Drain Service Technician, you’ll be more than the person who clears a drain. You’ll be a trusted expert who helps homeowners understand what’s happening in their homes and provides solutions they can feel confident about.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Performing residential drain cleaning, jetting, cabling, and related service work.
  • Providing camera inspections for mainline stoppages within 24 hours of the reported issue.
  • Diagnosing drain and sewer issues and clearly explaining your findings to customers.
  • Building strong customer relationships while delivering a professional, 5-star experience.
  • Educating customers about sewer repairs, replacements, maintenance, and preventative solutions.
  • Helping customers understand their options and choose the solution that best fits their needs.
  • Taking ownership of your work, performance, and revenue goals.
  • Creating an experience that earns customer referrals and repeat business.
  • Working alongside Customer Service and Dispatch to keep jobs running smoothly.
  • Maintaining and protecting your service vehicle, tools, and equipment.
  • Keeping your truck properly stocked and ready for the day.
  • Participating in hands‑on training, team meetings, and ongoing development.
  • Learning from experienced technicians and helping mentor apprentices as you grow.
  • Completing invoices, timecards, curbside feedback, and option sheets accurately and on time.
What We’re Looking For

You don't have to know everything on day one. We’re looking for people who are willing to learn, work hard, take ownership, and want to build something for themselves.

You’ll bring:

  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • At least 1 year of Drain Technician experience.
  • Knowledge of local plumbing codes is preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • A professional attitude and positive mindset.
  • The ability to work independently while being part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn new technology, techniques, and best practices.
